Bad Eschatology, Part 2 – Blindness

It is normal to be blind to our own errors – even when people show them to us. Even when we struggle to find errors and misconceptions, it can take a lot of work to see what should have been obvious.

Unfortunately, most believers are not interested in ferreting out falsehood. Change is painful, and it’s much easier to trust the stories of a professional – their pastor. And, the pastor is the product of seminaries that are paid to produce cookie-cutter Christians.

Then, there are the fabulists that created the fables that we love so much.

So, let’s talk about why we can be so blind.

Willful Blindness – Redux

Our ability to deceive ourselves is so great, that it is almost beyond comprehension. It’s as if we decided that the looming disasters that we face, are too much trouble to think about – much less, talk about or even do anything to avoid.

We won’t even TALK about these things, and I’m utterly amazed by this. And, since we keep our mouths closed, our choice to be blind spreads.

Dragons, Deception and Depression

I’ve got three separate things on my mind, and it all needs to fit in one article. Hopefully, I won’t make this too long.

There are two seven-headed beasts in Revelation, and we always focus on the one that we refer to as ‘The Beast’. But, what about that dragon?

I’m getting more comments and email about deception, and it seems to center around the growth of cult activity. And, it’s as bizarre as it is horrifying.

Ray Comfort came out with a new video, ‘Exit’. A reader sent me a link, and it seems like this is a good time to talk about this.

Willful Blindness

85% of you know that there is a problem. Eighty Five Percent. That’s a big number. Really big. And, I can bet that only one of that 85% is actually doing anything about it. Eighty five percent – that’s the verdict of a video that I just watched. The ‘one in 85’ is my own contribution. I understand the fear that keeps you inactive. Our societies punish those who stand up and point out problems. No one likes a person who disrupts the rhythm of life. No one likes the little boy who exclaims that the emperor has no clothes. … Click here to read the rest…
