The End of Western Civilization – The Weekend Shock Letter for June 20th, 2020

There is a reason why the Antichrist – the Man of Fierce Countenance – rises from one of the four Alexandrian kingdoms. Most theologians have ignored Daniel 8:23 because they could not see how Western Civilization could fall. Well, we’re about to see how wrong they were and are.

Sometime during the next 12 years, our civilization will fall. It cannot be avoided. It will not be delayed. It is an appointment with destiny that was foretold thousands of years ago, and most of you will get to live through it.

I’m just sickened by the fact that we did it to ourselves.

The Rooster Cometh

It’s Chinese New Year!

And, it’s the year of the rooster, and with it come many ominous portents. No, not the mystical shmystical kind. The more mundane, end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it kind. And yes, catastrophe will be the name of the game in this Chinese Year of the Rooster.

What can we expect?

Economic and financial devastation – or, at least more evidence that it is around the corner.

Libya falls farther into Russia’s grasp.

Gog and Magog will look more and more real with each passing week.

India will collapse and fall into the abyss of their own devising.

And, silver and gold will probably go up. Maybe.

Arrogance

Of all the enemies that we face in this world, our biggest lies reflected in the mirror. No one has done more to damage our relationship with God. No one had done more to harm the people that love us. No one is more destructive to our churches, our communities and our nation.

We really are our own worst enemy.

The thought that God loves us in spite of all that is more than I can truly understand. The good thing is that I don’t need to understand. I just need to accept it and seek to demonstrate that unfathomable love to a lost world.

The Death of Goodness

Our media has been proclaiming the death of this or that for decades. The death of Reason, which came after the death of Unreason. (Reason never had a chance.) Marx proclaimed the Death of Capitalism. Reagan talked about the death of Communism. There was the death of the Republican Party, followed by the death of the Democratic Party – which was never very democratic, if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, there’s a different death, that I want to talk about.

The Death of Goodness.

And no, I’m not talking about morality. That died a long time ago. No, I’m talking about goodness as something that people want to see themselves as.
