Our fall from grace has happened so slowly that we must look at it in terms of decades and even centuries. What was outrageous in the ’90s, is commonplace today. And, what we did in the ’90s was only whispered about in the ’70s. Oh, and we never talked about THAT in the ’50s.
This slow creep of all things immoral has been happening so slowly that it’s hard to see it, unless some ‘half-alien’ points it out to us.
I’m that ‘half-alien’.
The problem is that there aren’t enough ‘half-aliens’ out there to make what we say remarkable enough to be believed.
