Bad Eschatology, Part 5 – Why This Is So Hard

Before going after all the other purveyors of Bad Eschatology, I’d like to take a deep breath and talk about two reasons why the Last Days were always going to be impossible to understand.

False Prophets Shall Arise

When the steam powered printing press was invented in 1843, false teaching and false prophets were given the one thing that they needed to deceive the Body of Christ. It made their profane theology available to the average person, and their books crept into seminaries everywhere. It spread corruption far and wide, to every part of the earth.

Before the printing press, Christians only had the Bible to rely upon – with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It was too difficult and expensive for ill-conceived commentary to get very far. And now, with the Internet, corrupt ideas spread at the speed of light.

The Balfour Declaration – 100 Years

Thursday marked the 100 year anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. It laid the groundwork for the completely legal distribution of land rights to the Jews, as the foul and evil Ottoman Empire was being dismembered. And, make no mistake, the Ottoman Empire was truly corrupt and Satanic.

(Remember the Armenian Genocide?)

It was also a moment in time that marked the spread of the idea of the Nation State. The monarchies were dying. The ‘divine right of kings’ was losing recognition. And, it was the high water mark for Christianity in Europe and North America. After that, it was downhill.

Never forget that the founding of the State of Israel and her success has been entirely due to the Christians.

Twisting the Bible – Part 1 – A Bit of History

On Friday, I was horrified to hear two preachers repeat and reaffirm an abominable heresy that will lead their followers to a certain decision – one that will result in an eternity in Hell. And, these were two preachers that I liked and respected.

I am still shocked and outraged, but I’ve had time to reflect on how and why they came to believe and preach such an abomination. It is as natural as it is awful, and my hope is that you will avoid their errors by submitting yourself to the direction of the Holy Spirit as you read your Bible.
