General Suleimani is Dead. Good. Here’s Why.

General Qasem Soleimani was one of the most brilliant special operations commanders in recent history. Dedicated. Talented. Charismatic. Tireless. Dependable. Honest. Devoted to his men and to the cause of the Shiite Islamic Revolution of Iran. And, all of that means that he was a threat to Israel, The US and the Middle East.

He had to die, because Iran is at war with the US. And, that war has been ongoing for 40 years. Even if the US had not invaded Iraq, someone would have needed to assassinate him for the safety of the region.

The fact that he was a war criminal and a terrorist is secondary.

The Weekend Review and ShockCast 001

Okay, I’ve decided to launch into something a little new, since I don’t talk so much about the news during the week. Sometimes I will, but often I won’t. I also want to provide something of a compilation of the week’s news to help you stay on top of what is important.

The Weekend ShockCast won’t be all the news, but it will be the most important.

Lord willing, this will go out on Friday afternoons (EST). So, join me for the very first Weekend Review and ShockCast.

A Wave of Antisemitism

Waves of antisemitism have swept Europe, the Americas and the Middle East for centuries. This psychological defect has poisoned the minds of many and provided fertile ground for evil men and women who delight in oppressing the innocent.

Unfortunately, many in the alternative media have been captured by this ancient evil. Worse, this new wave of antisemitism has clouded clear thought and obscured the evil designs of the enemy.

Far worse than that, followers of Christ have allowed themselves to be turned away from what God says. The Bible clearly states that God has not forgotten the physical children of Jacob. God will bring Jacob back to Himself, and we risk the wrath of God – if we oppose what God is so clearly doing.

Hope, Genocide, Terror and Conflict

On Monday, I took the Jerusalem Light Rail from end-to-end. I had suffered through too many years of streets torn up and insufferable construction delays… to pass up a chance to take the train at least once. And, it’s a great train. Little did I know that it would take me through more than a hundred years of hope, genocide, terror and conflict.

And, foolishness.  Utter foolishness.

The story of the Jewish people will be our story, if we do not pay attention to the evil that lies before us. What they did to the Jews, they will do to us.

Our enemies will be satisfied by nothing less than genocide, terror and death for all who love and serve God.

Back in Israel, and Staring into the Abyss

Well, I finally made it back to Israel, after being away for a year and a half. After a peaceful existence in Taipei, returning to the stress of Jerusalem has been difficult. Israel is a country under siege, and part of the reason for that is the disaster that we all face.

Some of what happened over the past week has been more than a little shocking. We knew that it had to come, but that knowledge did little to lessen the shock. What I’m talking about is the cutoff of gas to 60% of Europe, and the decoupling of the Swiss Franc from the Euro.
