The Drums of War and Famine

The drums of war were louder this week – in ways that sounded a lot like those ‘weapons of mass destruction’ claims that led to the invasion of Iraq in 2003. And, this drive towards conflict almost drowned out a more subtle and deadly voice:

Famine

Because our governments are run by the worst possible leaders (see The Peter Principle), we will get the worst possible outcome. And, I had been hoping for a less cartoonish response from those sending us to war.

I was also hoping for more time before this future became so obvious.

The Last Days Accelerate – Jerusalem

Donald Trump just did the one thing that I did not expect him to do:

Recognize Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel

He promised to do that during his campaign, and he delivered on that promise. And, I’m not used to American Presidents doing that – especially, when it comes to Jerusalem.

WEEKEND SHOCKCAST: Deeper into the Petrodollar and War

Since the invention of Fractional Reserve Banking, there has never been anything that has done more to concentrate the world’s wealth into the hands of the few – than the Petrodollar System. And, as countries and economies grew, demand for oil grew, and that meant more oil produced and more dollars printed. With the rise of the US dollar as the only stable and secure currency … Click here to read the rest…

Orders from Riyadh – Part 4 – Nuclear War

When Saudi Arabia and OPEC became the paymasters for the American Empire, the Arabs were fairly unsophisticated in the game of world power. That has changed. Now, the sheikhs are better at handling the leash and the lash, which is why it is easier to see Arab machinations behind the wars in the Middle East. There’s also another problem. The profit margins for the Saudi sheikhs have exploded, and that has given them even more power. Unfortunately, with great power comes the opportunity to miscalculate and destroy everything – and, that’s why we are being led by the nose to … Click here to read the rest…

ISIS Hysteria and Isaiah 17

When I first heard about ISIS, they seemed like the kind of Muslim extremist group that we’ve seen before. As they cut their way into Iraq, that view hasn’t changed. This is an irregular militia of light infantry without air support. And, they are fighting poorly trained and poorly organized military forces that were not defending what they considered to be their own territory. Furthermore, there is a limit to how much area that ten thousand men can control – as the Kurds so amply demonstrated when they recently captured Kirkuk. This means that ISIS isn’t the threat that the … Click here to read the rest…
