Back in Israel, and Staring into the Abyss

Well, I finally made it back to Israel, after being away for a year and a half. After a peaceful existence in Taipei, returning to the stress of Jerusalem has been difficult. Israel is a country under siege, and part of the reason for that is the disaster that we all face.

Some of what happened over the past week has been more than a little shocking. We knew that it had to come, but that knowledge did little to lessen the shock. What I’m talking about is the cutoff of gas to 60% of Europe, and the decoupling of the Swiss Franc from the Euro.
