Bad Eschatology, Part 1 – Introduction

I dedicated much of my life to the Redemption of Israel. During my 15 years in Jerusalem, nothing was more important. It would be miraculous. It would be awesome. I wanted to be a part of that work of God. But then, our Lord dragged me off to Taiwan, and that’s when I began to see something serious:

The suffering and death of five billion people.

My hyper-positive focus on Israel had left me unable to see a vast catastrophe that would crush our civilization and kill billions. And, because of our bad eschatology, we aren’t able to see what’s coming.

Days of Anguish and Obedience

These are the days that will try your soul. We have crested the hill and now stare into the abyss. The question is whether you will surrender your will to the Lord and obey, in the midst of your anguish – or, whether you will choke and fail. Once the pain starts, it will be hard to choose.

So, choose now.

You will not make it through what is coming without the Lord and His Wisdom. The wisdom of man got you into this mess. It will take the Lord to get you out.

But, He will not ‘get you out’ if you do not choose to obey Him.

Blinded by the Past

What a turbulent week. Chinese stock markets collapsed. The Dow Jones Industrial Index flash-crashed. Fires consumed forests and homes in the American Northwest. North Korea threatened South Korea. Another explosion rocked China – followed by two in Japan. More evil rose from the cesspool called Planned Parenthood. And then, to add insult to injury, a glitch took down Omega Shock and a bunch of other sites. What a happy week. Lies and Zechariah 13:8

There is something fascinating about the lies that we believe. They say a lot about us, and a distressingly high number of us aren’t interested in being shown how false our favorite lies are. The problem is that lies are the biggest threat that we face right now. Our politicians are lying to us. Our educators are lying to us. Our media is lying to us. Our pastors are lying to us.
