Arrogance

Of all the enemies that we face in this world, our biggest lies reflected in the mirror. No one has done more to damage our relationship with God. No one had done more to harm the people that love us. No one is more destructive to our churches, our communities and our nation.

We really are our own worst enemy.

The thought that God loves us in spite of all that is more than I can truly understand. The good thing is that I don’t need to understand. I just need to accept it and seek to demonstrate that unfathomable love to a lost world.

Twisting the Bible – Part 2 – The Holy Spirit Has Left the Building

Someone wrote to agree with what I talked about yesterday and said:

Well said, Steve – very well said. Technology isn’t the problem. WE are the problem.

All that technology has done is act as a lever to magnify the efforts of our sinful nature. Technology is the lever, and it is our hand wielding this lever.

Furthermore, I see that this lever has been used to pry us away from the Holy Spirit. We have quenched the Spirit, and that has left us vulnerable to foolish doctrines that have led some pastors to preach damnable heresy.

Twisting the Bible – Part 1 – A Bit of History

On Friday, I was horrified to hear two preachers repeat and reaffirm an abominable heresy that will lead their followers to a certain decision – one that will result in an eternity in Hell. And, these were two preachers that I liked and respected.

I am still shocked and outraged, but I’ve had time to reflect on how and why they came to believe and preach such an abomination. It is as natural as it is awful, and my hope is that you will avoid their errors by submitting yourself to the direction of the Holy Spirit as you read your Bible.
