In the Seat of Jeremiah and Daniel’s 70th Week [UPDATED]

We’ve been here before. Every time that God’s people became sinful, God sent teachers to warn that judgment was coming. They were always ignored, and then judgment came.

Well, here we are. Yet again in a time of great sin among God’s people. And, yet again, the call to righteousness is ignored.

Unfortunately, we have hireling pastors who will not tell us the truth.

Because it would cost them their job.

This means that you and I have to do their job. It means that we need to sit in the seat of Jeremiah, and you aren’t going to like it.

Oh, and there’s a persistent lie about Daniel’s 70th Week. It won’t go away. It’s driving me nuts. So, I gotta talk about it. Hopefully, it will start to drive you nuts, too.

UPDATE: A church in California prepares for persecution.

This Week’s Playlist:

The Top Ten Videos for August 7th, 2020

————————————

Earlier this week, I saw the pastor of my home church repeat the same lie that has been repeated over and over and over and over. He said this:

לכן זעם אלוהים לא מועד הקהילה

“Therefore, the wrath of God is not [during the] time of the church.”

I was not surprised to hear him say it, but I was hoping that he wouldn’t. But he did, so here we are. And, my response is:

!זה נכון רק אם הקהילה צדיקה

“This is true, only if the church is RIGHTEOUS!”

If our churches were moral and obedient towards God, we would not be suffering judgment. Were it not for our sin and disobedience we would not be seeing the horrible things that are happening right now. We did this. It’s our fault. We sinned. Greatly. So, our civilization must fall.

Did anyone stop to think about WHY the Antichrist was being allowed to persecute God’s people?

And yes, God really does allow it.

And no, the Antichrist is not about to start rising. This is – at most – only the horrible events that will knock everything down so that this man of fierce countenance can rise unopposed – in the future. In fact, it’s possible that the Antichrist might not come for decades. There are a lot of things that MUST happen between now and then.

But, our brothers and sisters are worried that we are about to see the Great Tribulation. And, they are right to be worried because our pastors have been lying to them about it. The pastor that I quoted, sincerely believes that what he is saying is the truth. So, I can’t call him a liar. But, what he is saying is a lie.

What makes this harder is that Meno is a good man and a friend. I do not like having to say this about someone that I respect and admire. But, a lie is a lie is a lie is a lie.

The Hireling Shepherds

But, Meno is saying what he sincerely believes. He gets respect from me for doing that. But, Meno believes this way because there is a different kind of pastor.

Pastors who know what the truth is, but won’t tell it to you.

Meno was taught a lie, and those who knew that it was a lie, did not stand up and object to it. Those who knew the truth, allowed Meno and pastors like him to be deceived – and to deceive others. And, I have an extremely personal example of this.

When God dragged me back from Israel, to the US. (So that I could meet Mrs. Little.) I attended a church led by a pastor who will not tell you the truth. And, I doubt that anyone in his church knows that. He certainly does NOT tell anyone but a select few about what believes about the Rapture.

John Newland KNOWS that we are going through the Great Tribulation, but he will never tell that to his church.

How do I know?

First, because he told me, and second, because he asked me to preach on this topic and take the heat for it. So, over the course of  several Sunday night services, I preached what I knew to be true, while he quietly sat on the sidelines. Again, he KNOWS that we are going to suffer the Great Tribulation, but he will never warn his church. Never.

John Newland is a hireling shepherd and a coward. And, Jesus spoke about this here:

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.

 – John 10:11-13 (NKJV)

Again, Pastor Newland is a hireling. A ‘hired man’. He cares about the members of the church, but only if they pay his salary. And, there were real wolves in that church. I got mauled by a couple of them, as he stood by and watched.

But, don’t get me wrong… I actually like John Newland. If he was just a regular member of a church, he would not get a word of criticism from me. In fact, this is probably the first time that I’ve ever criticized him. But, the fact that he is withholding truth from his congregation is serious, and there’s a verse that addresses this:

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

James 3:1 (NKJV)

John Newland is going to suffer the judgment of God because he has withheld the truth from his flock. Jesus told us to…

But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

 – Luke 21:36 (NASB)

That is a commandment from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It was not a suggestion, yet John Newland is not doing this. Your own pastor is probably not doing this.

Now, I’ve said that John’s biggest problem is his paycheck. That he’s a hireling shephard. Well, there’s an interesting quote that addresses this. You might even call it a more modern retelling of what Jesus said, but with a more modern twist. It goes like this:

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”

 – Upton Sinclair

Here is my version:

“It is difficult to get a pastor to tell you the truth, when his salary depends on his not telling it to you.”

 – John Little

There are far too many pastors like John Newland. And they know that if they told their congregations the truth, half of them would leave. Pastor Newland even said something to that effect to someone that I know. And again, I like John. I consider him to be a friend. He’s a good guy. The only thing that I don’t like about him personally, is that he drives like a maniac.

But as a pastor, he’s hireling and a coward.

And no, I was not planning on naming names in this article, when I sat down to write. But, I’m afraid that we are out of time. Terrible events are coming, and these men are not doing their job.

No… no, it’s worse than just ‘not doing their job’. They – by their silence – are promoting a lie that has done grave damage to the Body of Christ. And, if a  pastor like John is quiet enough, for long enough, and gets his doctorate in theology, he might get ‘promoted’ to a seminary – after he’s tired of playing pastor. And yes, John Newland is getting his Ph.D.

Is your pastor a coward?

Did he go to a seminary taught by cowards?

Will he get his Ph.D. and then teach cowardice at a seminary?

Jeremiah

This is where we come to the Seat of Jeremiah. A place where we all must sit because pastors have preached lies and withheld the truth. Because our leadership has been deceived, you are required to speak the truth that they will not deliver. You are required to sit with Jeremiah, and it is a miserable place to be.

Poor Jeremiah lived at the same kind of moment in time. Like you, Jeremiah knew that God’s judgment was coming. God told him, and he could not keep quiet about it. And, he had to watch as they ignored him and were destroyed.

I feel really badly about what Jeremiah ben Hilkiah went through.

It hurts to read those parts of the Bible where he cried out to his people, trying to get them to wake up to God’s Judgment. The wrath of God was coming for Jerusalem, and people didn’t listen. There were moments when some did listen to Jeremiah, and they owed their lives to believing him. But, those who needed to listen the most… did not. And died.

How ironic that King Zedekiah knew that Jeremiah was right. But, the price was too high for him. He would have lost his job. They might have mocked him. That sounds like a certain pastor that we’ve just talked about.

Is your pastor a King Zedekiah?

God DOES Judge His People With Wrath

For two centuries, false teachers have proclaimed that the wrath of God cannot come upon God’s people. They loudly proclaimed that you have nothing to worry about, as long as you proclaim yourself to be a follower of Christ. Yet, these hireling pastors neglected to point out that the Bible is full of examples of God’s wrath upon His people.

You cannot read the Bible without seeing that everywhere. From Genesis to Revelation. If you are reading your Bible, you cannot avoid the FACT that God will punish His people for the evil that they do. He will wait for them to repent. He will give them opportunities to repent. He will send prophets and teachers to guide them to repentance.

But, there comes a time when enough is enough.

Jeremiah Had To Watch It Happen

And, poor Jeremiah was the man who had to watch it all happen.

He started his ministry under a good king – King Josiah. Josiah was awesome, that is… until he forgot to ask God about whether he should fight Pharaoh. That cost Josiah his life, and the sons that ruled after him were abominations. That’s when God handed what was left of Israel over to Babylon. When Nebuchadnezzar was done, there were just a handful of Israelis left, and Gedaliah ben Ahikam ben Shaphan was appointed to rule over that pitiful remnant.

Then along came a patriot. The son of a prince. Named Ishmael ben Elishama. (The name ‘Ishmael’ means Man from God, so it’s a pretty awesome name – except for the… uh …unfortunate connection.) Apparently, he wanted to start yet another rebellion against the King of Babylon. The same kind of rebellion that King Zedekiah started. The kind of rebellion that God said not to do. And General Yohanan ben Kareah came along to save the day. He put down the rebellion, and even asked Jeremiah what God wanted them to do.

This is where the story of poor Jeremiah turns even more tragic. It was bad enough for him to see the destruction of his people. He told them to surrender to Babylon or be destroyed. They refused to listen, so they were destroyed.

Everything that Jeremiah had prophesied, came to pass in every awful and wretched detail. Jeremiah had proved time and time again that God was speaking through him, yet they would not listen. Then when General Yohanan ben Kareah stood before him, waiting to hear from God, Jeremiah told him and all the people that if they went into Egypt they would all die.

What did Israel’s last remaining general do?

That’s right, he rebelled against God.

General Yohanan ben Kareah refused to listen to God and dragged what was left of his people to Egypt. To die a wretched death. With all the evidence that Jeremiah was right, they still refused to obey. The truth did not matter to them. They didn’t want it. They chose death, instead of God.

Worse, they dragged Jeremiah with them, forcing him to share in their suffering and death.

If you’ve gotten this far… If you are still reading or listening to this …God is offering you the same seat as poor Jeremiah. And, I can tell you that it’s a terrible place to sit.

I would end here, but there is another lie running around that is less serious, but still a real problem.

Daniel’s 70th Week

There is a popular theory running around claiming that there is a two thousand year gap between week 69 and week 70, in the prophecy about the coming of Messiah. They are saying that there are two thousand years between Daniel 9:26 and Daniel 9:27. And, that’s absolutely nuts.

Remember that Daniel 9 is about the coming of Jesus Christ and only the coming of Jesus Christ. There is nothing in Daniel 9 that talks about the Last Days in any way. If there was ANYTHING about the Last Days in that chapter, Daniel would have said so. But, for two hundred years, teachers have claimed that everything in Daniel 9 is about Jesus… except the last verse.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

THAT’S HOW WE SHOULD INTERPRET THE BIBLE?

This is absolutely maddening. And, the only reason why people are regurgitating this awful interpretation (and yes, I mean throwing up) is because they do not understand the passage that Jesus was referring to, when He said this:

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

 – Matthew 24:15-16 (NKJV)

But, Daniel 9:27 doesn’t say the ‘abomination of desolation’. It actually says this:

And, a covenant shall be confirmed to many, for one week. And, [at] half of the week, there is a ceasing of sacrifice and offering. And, for the wing of abominations, [there will be] devastation – until completeness and destruction is poured on [the] devastated.

 – Daniel 9:27, JLV (John Little Version)

(Brackets [ and ] are my insertions to help you understand what the Hebrew is saying.)

And yeah, I actually had to go through and translate the Hebrew myself, since the other translations do not understand that there is NO DEFINITE ARTICLE IN THAT VERSE! That’s right. No ‘he’. None at all. And, Hebrew is very specific about such things.

You will also notice that Daniel 9:27 does not mention an ‘abomination of desolation’. And, it doesn’t stand in the holy place. Daniel 9:27 does NOT and CANNOT fit with what Jesus said in Matthew 24:15.

But, it gets better…

Here is the verse that Jesus must have been referring to:

And, I heard a holy one speak and say to the holy one that was speaking “to what time of the vision of the continuous and the transgression of desolation given and holiness and army trampling?

 – Daniel 8:13 (John Little Version)

That’s my translation. Feel free to get your own. But, the point should be clear about whatever translation that you use.

Daniel 8 is about the Last Days. It’s extremely clear. It’s the point of that chapter. AND it refers to the Transgression of Desolation. Jesus was speaking in Hebrew, but His words were written down in Greek. But, even so… it’s impossible for anyone to point to a better connection than Daniel 8:13. Transgression of Desolation and Abomination of Desolation are so similar, only someone deeply deluded would say otherwise.

This isn’t rocket science, kids. It should be easy for you to figure out the verse that Jesus was referring to. Yet, Jesus knew the lies and distortions that people would insert into His words, so He added this to Matthew 24:15:

…whoever reads, let him understand

Right. Jesus knew that morons would creep in, distorting what He was trying to say. He knew that criminal idiots would try to put a 2000 year gap between two verses, in a chapter that was ONLY about the coming of Christ. Jesus KNEW that deceivers would twist the Bible out of shape, so that the meaning would not be recognized.

So, let me say this again. Jesus was referring to Daniel 8. NOT DANIEL 9! It is a sin to distort the Bible. So, it’s a sin to put a 2000 year gap between Daniel 9:26 and Daniel 9:27.

Minimizing The Sacrifice Of Christ

Don’t you understand that Jesus was the one ended the need for sacrifices?

That He did it after only three and a half years?

So, not only are we inserting something into Daniel 9, that does not belong there. We are also minimizing the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. He ended the sacrifices. From that moment on, any and all sacrifices became meaningless.

It makes me angry to see this, and I believe that God feels the same way.

Daniel’s 70th Week was fulfilled completely almost two thousand years ago, and to say otherwise is a sin. I know that sounds harsh, but what else are we going to call a deliberate distortion of the Bible? Committing this sin won’t make you lose your salvation, but it will corrupt your understanding of the Bible and make you vulnerable to the terrible events that are coming. And, if you teach this lie… woe unto you.

Please, stop this lie about Daniel’s 70th week.

We must stop teaching lies.

Persecution Of A Church In California

A reader sent this to me and it’s a deeply disturbing sign of what is coming:

Godspeak Urgent Update – 8.7.2020

I don’t know anything about Pastor McCoy, other than this video. But, his utter sincerity and commitment to God is clear. And, I have great hope for men like this.

Persecution has a way of clarifying what you have gotten wrong. And, it looks like the time of persecution has come.

I don’t look forward to this. I will grieve with all of you who will suffer. I’m so very, very sorry.

I truly hope that you’ll be ready for this

A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.Proverbs 22:3

  1. Started reading, and defending a coward of God, grates my craw. My memory fades and complete verses do not come to me like they used to. “If any any man says he is of me, and does not the truth??? If the watchman sees the danger, and does not warn, blood will be on his hands. To whom much is given, much will be required. The sadness of the state of such a person is beyond comprehension, let alone sending you into the fire to leave you hanging is incomprehensible from GOD’S child. He let you proclaim truth, get roasted, and remained silent?? Weep for him!! Now I will go back to read the rest (mebbe)

  2. brother John
what about the other half part of the week of the covenant after Jesus died as the sacrifice for every one at all times ?

    • Daniel 9:27 predicts that Jesus would die in the midst of the week. After three and a half years. Then, during the next three and a half years, His covenant would be confirmed. Which happened. I hope that makes things clear, Nadine. Great question. – JL

  3. I feel like some kind of spectator at a scenario too bizarre for words. The corruption of the PTB is exceeded only by their stupidity and arrogance, and Armstrong is saying that this is blowing up in their faces. His model predicted they would fail, the problem is the damage they would do in the process. He says that all of them gravely underestimated the magnitude of the economic damage, and are now – at least in Europe – having to face the inescapable reality that if they dare lift the covid restrictions they will have the utter chaos they sought to suppress. When the moratoriums on evictions, etc are lifted – the massive unemployment they created will mean masses of people unable to pay rent. landlords unable to pay overhead, and millions upon millions of people homeless, hungry, out on the street with the food supply chain destroyed and it would be hard to create a science fiction nightmare worse than this reality we are in.

The masses of sheeple are stupid. The few that see what is really happening are shouted down, beaten up, etc. I am really curious to see what unfolds if the masses EVER manage to figure out that the governments are lying and they have been totally duped. What then? What do you think they will do???

    • Hi DRG,

Sorry to catch your comment so late.

The thing about Armstrong, is that he understands the glue that holds civilization together – Trust. You cannot have a civilization without it. You can run a civilization on fear for a short time, but only so long as you can convince people that you really are that powerful and all-knowing. Once they see your clay feet, you’re done.

So, the choice is peace-and-tranquility or THE STASI.

You can guess what we are going to get.

So yeah, they miscalculated. But, they always have done this. It’s not just the average person that’s stupid. The elites are too.

      What will they do?

Even more of what they are doing now. More ‘information Control’. More ‘Narrative Control’. More riots. More looting. More economic collapse. And finally… the governments of this world will lose control. And, I think that Armstrong is the only one to understand the timing of all of this.

Someone left a comment on this article, that I wrote in 2014:

      https://omegashock.com/2014/05/21/the-rise-of-the-antichrist-begins-in-2020/

Six years ago, Martin Armstrong was able to predict what we are going through now. And, he finds it hard to believe, himself.

This is going to be so bad, I can hardly believe it. The best that we can do is prepare for your worst nightmare and hope that it passes you by. And, remember what Jesus said:

But stay alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that must happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

      – Luke 21:36 (NET)

TRANSLATION NOTE: The King James Version gets this wrong, and it’s yet another horrifying example of how the Anglican translators twisted the Bible. The KJV says “pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy”. The Greek actually says, “praying that you have strength”. And, I spent most of my life being deceived by the KJV. Jesus told us to pray that we be strong enough.

We all need to be praying that we are strong enough. And no, I’m not sure that I am.

      Great comment, as always, DRG.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

    • Unfortunately, we are in so much trouble, that I’m not sure that they matter. 50 years ago, they would have been horrifying. Today? Today, we are staring into the abyss and waiting for the Great Disaster. As bad as it is now, it will get much, much worse. Sorry, that I cannot be more positive, Dotty. – JL

      • The executive order thingy again!! (FACEPALM). These are nothing but dictatorial powers. Imagine what Joe Biden or Kamala wish to do with such power. Trump turbocharged police power early on. Kamala says she is coming after ANYONE who supported TRUMP or his policies, GESTAPO STYLE, consider!! Executive orders are never a good thing.

  4. Ok so I am now totally rethinking how I have viewed the end times since I became born again back in 1980. When I got saved I went to a bible study on the end times, Hal Lindsey type of interpretation, the kind that drives you nuts, sorry. While his book seemed real far fetch we are now seeing a one world government coming, cashless system, etc. Simultaneously at that time I started attending a church something I was encouraged to do as a new believer. It was at this church I learned that Christians have different views of the end times, so I accepted it especially since my view seemed to be the minority and there was so much else I needed to learn regarding my new faith in Christ. This church viewed the destruction of the temple in 70 AD as the fulfillment of Daniels prophecy in chapter 9, but I never heard anything else they believed about the end times because it was never taught. I think they spiritualized the promises given to Israel as for the church which I have learned since is called replacement theology. What do you think of that theology? I have always been fascinated with eschatology though I don’t limit my study of the bible to that. Are there any authors you would recommend to read on this subject? I did follow the link you posted to listen to and read the longer discussion on Daniel’s 70th week, I would have loved to hear your sermons at John Newlands church. I don’t want to live in deception, Our blessed hope is what keeps me going

    • Hi Carol,

For your own research, let put a name on the different theologies behind what you have experienced. The Bible study that you went to, believed in Dispensationalism. The church that believed that 70 AD fulfilled prophecy… that’s Preterism. They are both wrong, but Dispensationalism is far less dangerous than Preterism.

Dispensationalism adds to the Book of Revelation.

Preterism takes away from the Book of Revelation.

Here are the two verses that should scare anyone on this subject. (They certainly scare ME.)

18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy contained in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.

19 And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.

      – Revelation 22:18-19 (NET)

If you follow Dispensationalism, you will suffer in this life. If you follow Preterism, you will suffer loss for all of eternity.

Worse, it will be the Preterists who will accept the Antichrist as the Second Coming of Jesus. So, if you had to choose between the two, be a Dispensationalist.

Better yet, just do your best to understand. And, I don’t know of anyone that I can safely say that gets it right. I’m not even sure that I do, although I do believe that I get it right better than most. (But, you would expect me to say that.)

I think that it will help if you read my two books. If nothing else, they will help you understand that there are serious problems with how we view the Last Days, and that there is a serious price for getting it wrong.

I hope that helps, Carol. If you have any other questions, feel free to keep asking them.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

  5. Very well said. If they defund the police, who is going to run out the armed squatters?? When the rest of us with resources find who is the cause of the mayhem, (Soros, Rockefellers, leaders of countries that will hide. Contingencies are already in place to flag seal teams and units, and affiliates that might all show up at one location. Yes our info is that flagged. Thisvwas 6-9 months back. They know we will be coming for them. There are already laws and systems in place for their protection. The masks prepare us to distance ourselves from each other, when they come off digital recognition will do the rest. These are just the things we know. Is there DNA recognition out there somewhere? Our money, our research and technology, only to find out if it can be used against the sheep. Madness?? If we can’t burn it down it will probably burn us all.

  6. The executive order thingy again!!
