My New Book – When Jacob Returns

For more than six months, I’ve been researching and writing. I started out just trying to update an eight year old website. But, after a few weeks, it became clear that I needed to do far, far more than that. That’s when a website update became a backbreaking effort to create a book that would put an important piece of the Last Days into its proper place.

Normally, a book like this would not have taken so long, and I certainly wasn’t expecting it to. But, soul-searching and the slaying of preconceived notions is hard and time-consuming. And exhausting.

But, in the end, a book was born:

When Jacob Returns
Putting The Last Days In The Right Perspective. (And yes, WHEN is important!)

My New Book – When Jacob Returns

This book is in rough draft form. There are grammar and spelling mistakes. There may even be some minor errors in reasoning. I’m also not sure that I want the book to be organized in this way. But, the reason why this book moves from chapter to chapter, is due to my own need to iron out any errors that I had about what God was saying.

Before I could tell YOU what the Bible said, I needed to make sure that I saw the words of God clearly.

Woe unto me, should I lead you down a wrong path. And, I’m here to tell you that I did have some misperceptions and even misconceptions. I was also forced to deal with certain chapters that I had unconsciously avoided dealing with. For instance, Zechariah 14 took a week to unravel and then describe. And, I’m still not sure that I have interpreted Joel 3 correctly.

Over the next few weeks, I will be doing my best to iron out the grammar and spelling, and make sure that my reasoning and logic has been consistent. The good news is that this should take only part of my time.

Lord willing, you will see a Shock Letter and ShockCast towards the end of next week.

In the meantime, read When Jacob Returns. I needed to write it. You need to read it. It’s important. And then, once you have understood the main point, share what you know with others.

The great ignorance about when the Children of Jacob return to God, will one day lead to many of our brethren experiencing needless suffering and death. If there is to be any hope of survival in the dark days ahead, we need to understand what comes next.

It really is a life or death issue.

But, right now I’m exhausted. This has been a hard road, and I need to set the book aside and recoup some of my energy. There is a lot more than just the salvation of Israel to talk about, and you need to hear about that.

Oh, and as a ‘teaser’ for my next article…

…2020 will be a good year.

I don’t get to say such things very often, but I’m glad that I can say it now – and talk about it in more detail next week.

So, let me leave you with the opening paragraphs of When Jacob Returns:

Since you probably know that we are living in the Last Days…

Do you know what comes next?

Are you sure?

A lot of theories make confident claims that such-and-so could be just around the corner. But, the vast majority of these speculations have their foundation in notions that are two centuries old.

Are you willing to bet your life on an assumption, written down in 1811? 1840? The 1850s?

You owe it to yourself to test these theories and see if they are true. And, one of the most important places to start is with the more than 80 chapters in the Bible that talk about the return of the Children of Jacob to God. And, many of those chapters predict catastrophe for the nations of the world, when this great salvation occurs.

The question is…

…do we really know when the salvation of Israel happens?

Our theories won’t protect us when things fall apart. And, there is a massive cataclysm, described in the Bible, that will sweep the world. I describe that cataclysm in my book, Ezekiel’s Fire. That global catastrophe will happen at the time of Jacob’s Return, and you can read about that, here:

Ezekiel’s Fire

However, in that book, I neglected to carefully examine the Biblical clues about the timing of this event. This book fixes that oversight.

If I am right about the severity and deadliness of Ezekiel’s Fire, then the timing of this event should be of consuming interest to all of us. And, I originally made some very clear assumptions about that timing, in the first editions of that book.

How can I know that I was right?

Was I just another writer, spouting baseless theories?

We should be like the noble Jews of Berea (Acts 17:10-11), who searched the Bible to see if the words of Paul were true. This book represents my own attempt to be as noble as these Bereans.

Did I get this right?

I have done my very best to keep an open mind and place the clues in their proper place and order. Sometimes that means eliminating the impossible. At other times, knowing that which is merely probable.

The point is to find the undeniable truth of Jacob’s Return, and where it fits in the order of events of the Last Days. The truth is there, and it can be found, if we look carefully, with sincerity and integrity – and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Many of the theories of the 19th century have already been proven wrong.

Let’s see if we can prove what’s right.

If there really is an unimaginable catastrophe in our future, the truth of that catastrophe is important. As I keep repeating, our theories won’t protect us, if we get it wrong. Most important of all…

…discovering the truth will help us be ready to serve God in the dark days that come.

Nothing is more important than that.

So, join me as we comb through the passages that speak of the return of Jacob to God. I will analyze those that describe the specific moment in time in which that salvation comes and try to find out the truth.

When will Jacob return to God?

What will happen to those of us who ignore the warnings?

This book is in rough draft form. it needs to be edited for grammar and spelling errors. There are undoubtedly some hidden errors in logic and reasoning, since the writing of this book was a journey of discovery. My mind was changed more than once over several issues that this book addresses, and there may be hidden corners within this book that did not get changed to reflect new understanding. It’s what happens when you write in a ‘stream of consciousness’.

However, while unpolished, this book is vitally important for your understanding of your place in the Last Days. Do not let bits of unpolished text get in the way of what you need to learn.

I truly hope that you’ll be ready for this

  1. John!!!! Merry Christmas!!!! Long time no hear!!! Take your well-earned rest. Enjoy it. And then, I am totally excited to hear why 2020 will be a good year!!!!!

  2. SO happy to hear you’re okay!! I’ve been checking your website daily for updates. Looking forward to reading your articles in 2020!

  3. John,

Good to hear from you again! I have only commented twice I believe on your site, but I’ve been a faithful reader for several years now. I’m not even sure when/how I came across this site!?

Anyway, many that I have read or followed for several years or a decade or more have fallen or passed. To be honest, the voices of those I trust in Christendom have grown very faint in these recent days. Just glad to see you back! And for anyone else here, the truth is still the truth, regardless of the crowd size.

    God bless,

    • Thank you, Dan. Just remember that I do make mistakes. We all thought that catastrophe would arrive much sooner than this. Unfortunately, the delay has made our eventual collapse even greater. It’s the price of greed. Hopefully, you and I will survive what’s coming and be able to continue serving God. – JL

  4. I see you are at your desk, moderating comments, from the volume I see coming through just now. So I hope that means you are sitting down.

A long-time (30 years) friend of mine is trying to convert me to Catholicism. I am listening and trying to be open-minded, in the hopes of – with respectful but well-worded responses – getting him to think outside the box and question some of his own indoctrination. Which appears to be set in concrete. I find myself considering that possibly they DO have some things right, because his answers make sense and portray many of the usual Protestant objections as mere misunderstandings. He is extremely well educated, both in the usual sense and theologically, but all of it in the Catholic tradition. I constantly pray for protection against deception, for spiritual wisdom and discernment, and to not allow myself to be swayed for reasons of friendship and being “nice”. I ask your prayer for the same. And I tried to look up info on the CC trying to exterminate the Anabaptists, and how it was that they originated and could trace their origins to the original apostles, and couldn’t find anything. Do you know where I could find this?

    • Hi DRG,

Yup. You caught me working on Omega Shock stuff.

I’m glad that you reached out to me with this, since I actually have some background with a somewhat similar ‘tradition’ (Landmarkism).

At the core of the Catholic argument is authority. The Bible talks about this, so there is some truth to their claim that the Apostles passed on their authority to the early church and the early church passed it on from church to church until now.

The question is whether this authority is passed on by ceremony, or through hearing the gospel and then accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

I came out of a group that calls itself ‘Landmark Sovereign Grace Baptist’. This ‘Landmark’ tradition can trace its roots all the way back to John the Baptist. The church that baptized my first pastor, who baptized me, has a document in its possession that shows how their church goes all the way back to the early church without so much as touching the Harlot Roman Catholic Church.

But, do you know what they call this?

Here’s what Paul has to say about that:

nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.
      1 Timothy 1:4

But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.
      Titus 3:9

In addition to all of their other sins, the Roman Catholic Church is practicing ‘genealogies’. And, there’s nothing in the Bible about having to make sure that you’ve been baptized by someone who has been baptized by someone who has been baptized… all the way down to John the Baptist. It’s just not in the Bible.

However, if you want to be a part of that ‘genealogy’, then get yourself baptized by a Landmark Baptist or a Southern Baptist. Other Baptists might qualify, but I’m not sure. A large part of the Charismatics have come out of the ‘Old Baptists’.

However, you weren’t necessarily looking for just that. Here are some materials that will give you more information:

You’ll see a lot of genocide at the hands of the Catholics in the above links.

This next one is a bit… well …Landmarkist. But, there’s some good stuff there:

Anyway, I hope that helps. I truly wish that I could rescue the Catholics from their darkness, but that’s in God’s hands.

Let me know if you need anything else, DRG.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little
