Sin Destroys the Mind

Looking back over the events of the past week, one thing rings clear. Corruption and insanity go together. There’s a causal link between the two, and it is corruption that is the cause. And, we even have scientific proof to back up this assertion.

We have become insane, because we have chosen sin over righteousness.

Our founding fathers knew this, and even the worst of them – Benjamin Franklin – was clear on the need for morality and ethics for our freedom to be free. But, we lost our way and traded our freedom and sanity for pretty trinkets and shiny toys.

The Top Ten Videos Of The Past Week:

What irony that the signature of our Creator would apply itself to the mind. I use the word ‘irony’ only for those scientists who persist in denying God, when the evidence of His existence is everywhere.

But, the mind?

Yes, the mind.

We don’t think of sin and corruption as a cause of brain damage, but PBS actually aired a television program that proves that to be the case. Your ability to be horrified by the horrifying is eroded when you engage in sin and support those who do. And, we’re not used to science proving that.

Of course, the Bible has been telling us this for thousands of years, but we tend to forget that the Bible is a manual for sanity and common sense. We’re not used to thinking of real consequences for moral failures. But, this thoughtlessness is extremely foolish, since we have more than science as proof.

Just look at history. It’s a story of one stupid mistake after another. The story of catastrophe and absolute insanity is everywhere in history. And, it’s a depressing description of our inability to keep our civilizations from falling apart.

Why must we be so stupid?

I keep asking that question, even though I know the answer. And, I will be reading that answer again, in January, when I start next year’s Bible reading plan. And, I encourage all of you to pick up a One Year Bible and read through it with me.

If sin rots the mind, then the antidote is righteousness. But, you can’t know what that is, unless you’ve read the manual and committed it to your heart. And, you cannot truly know the price that Jesus paid, to make us free from this insanity, if you don’t know what it was that He paid for.

What an amazing God that we have, for Him to send His only Son to die for those who did not deserve it in any way. And, when you see the section below on the collapse of Christianity in America, you will understand just how little we deserve Christ’s sacrifice for ourselves.

The thought that the truth and the church could be abandoned so easily and so quickly… well …I can only ask God to save us from our own stupidity. But, the cost will be high, for the only way that I can see America returning to Christ, is for America to suffer greatly.

After all, it was our prosperity and love of wealth that destroyed our morality. And, the coming financial collapse will forge the chains that will enslave us all. And we will only have ourselves to blame.

We enjoyed the sin far too much, and it destroyed our sanity.

Yup, more than just special, these links appear to be the most important of all. Seriously, start with these.

And yes, these are pretty serious.

2018 11 18 Justin Blanton – “The New Apostolic Movement, Part 2” – YouTube

This is part two of a two part video series that I introduced last week about the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). And, I am truly shocked by what I heard.

Oh, and please do not be put off by his dry style of delivery. Justin is not a ‘professional speaker’. What he doesn’t have in glitz and glamour, he makes up for in good, solid information. Now, on to my thoughts about what Justin says here.

The first thing that struck me was:

They actually say that Jesus had to be BORN AGAIN? That He was not fully God?

In fact, I almost had a ‘meltdown’ then and there. I actually did not need to listen to the rest of what Justin said. That was enough. But, I kept on listening, and you should, too.

Now, as you listen to the rest of this, notice something important. Is there ANY obedience to the words of God from these NAR people?

Remember that that following Christ means SUBMITTING to Christ. It means OBEYING Christ. And, every word in the Bible is the word of God. They are the words of Christ, whether they are spoken by the Holy Spirit, the Father or Jesus Himself. They are ONE.

The point is this, that you can discern the truth about these people by seeing their obedience to what the Bible actually says. And, they are not.

This video is revealing incredible, incredible darkness within the Charismatic Movement – specifically, the New Apostolic Reformation.

Am I saying that Charismatics are not Christian?

But, the leaders profiled in this video are not Christian. They can’t be, because they do not speak according to the Word of God. And, that is ALWAYS how you know that you have a false prophet.

If you want to listen to Part One of Justin’s presentation, it’s here:

This really is an Antichrist movement that is growing in wealth and power.

Asia Bibi’s family hunted by religious extremists going door-to-door – The Rebel

Pray for the Christians in Pakistan. Persecution is rising in that country, and it’s a true abomination.

And, I agree with this author that Britain and the United States should stop foreign aid to Pakistan until the persecution of Christians stops.

Oh, and pray for Asia Bibi and her suffering family. They stood for Christ, and now they are trying to kill them for it.

Is A Baby a “Choice”? – YouTube

I don’t normally let these through. I normally don’t like non-audio presentations. But, this is way too important to pass up.

This is a truly powerful message about WHY abortion is murder.

Michael Snyder wrote an excellent piece about the destruction of Christianity in America, and it has happened from the inside out. And, this ‘fall from grace’ is accelerating at an obscene rate.

So, what I have done below is provide a link to his article, and then the links found within that article.

“Between 6,000 and 10,000 churches in the U.S. are dying each year” – and that means that over 100 will die this week – End Of The American Dream

When Obama declared that America was no longer a Christian nation, he was stating what he hoped was true. When you read this, you will understand that his proclamation was merely fact.

I point the finger of blame at the pulpit, where pastors have replaced the truth with lies that tickle and scratch the ear. But, I also know that these false pastors had a tremendous amount of help.

Seminaries brainwashed their students with outright lies and half-truths. Televangelists blared preached an empty doctrine of false healing and sugar-coated prosperity. And, when our congregations committed fornication, adultery, greed, theft, dishonesty, substance abuse, and the defamation of fellow brothers and sisters, our pastors just patted them on the head and told them that they were just fine.

Is it any wonder that half of all pastors are regular consumers of pornography?

Yes. That’s right. Half.

As a result, a hundred churches died this week. A hundred. Probably more than that.

Some of them died because their pastors actually told them the truth. That does happen, and I know one pastor who won’t tell his congregation the truth, because he’ll lose two thirds of his congregation.

He’s a coward, and he’s very high up in the Southern Baptist Convention. Very high. And, we wouldn’t be in this problem if our pastors weren’t such cowards.

Of course, the problem is bigger than that. Even though the first cause of our downfall resides in the lies, corruption and weakness in our pulpits, that’s not the only source of trouble.

Remember that we liked what our pastors taught us. We enjoyed the lies that they preached. We encouraged them in their weakness and corruption. And, we sent our sons off to seminary, thinking that we were doing a good thing.

Well, we weren’t. We lied to ourselves that taking the easy route was for the best. We thought that sugar-coating the truth, to make it more palatible for the unsaved would be more acceptible than it purity.

We cast away the knowledge that God is the Author of salvation. We conveniently chose to forget that it is the unvarnished truth and the untainted love of God that draws people to salvation.

Salvation is a narrow and difficult path, and the truth of that is painful. It hurts our pride and tells us that we are less than nothing without Christ.

We forgot that it is God that brings people to our churches. But, He will only bring His children to us if they are going to hear the TRUTH.

Did we honestly think that God would bring His precious children to our churches, if they would not be hearing the truth that they so desparately need?

God’s precious children need the truth, and we chose to not give it to them. We chose to starve them of the nourishment that they needed to grow into healthy reflections of Christ on this Earth.

We did this, so now our churches die.

And, when the churches die, the nation dies.

A hundred churches died this week. A hundred more will die next week. And, there will be no one to blame, but you and me. We did this, and we will suffer greatly because of it.

Never forget that there is always a price for sin. Always.

What Should America Do With Its Empty Church Buildings? – The Atlantic

This is the article that inspire Michael Snyder’s great article. You can tell that the writer of this piece isn’t much of a Christian. It looks like he claims to be a Christian. He even wrote a book. This one:

Learning to Speak God from Scratch: Why Sacred Words Are Vanishing–and How We Can Revive Them

From reaIt’s pure pablum. No, scratch that. It’s worse than pablum. It’s poison. It’s a glossing over of the truth of the Bible. It’s about words without substance.

It’s his own ‘post-modern’ re-imagining of what truth is. And, you can tell from what hes says in his article, that he doesn’t know WHAT the truth is, and WHERE you can find it.

But, there is some silver lining to this article.

Notice the identity of the churches that are closing:

St. Vincent De Paul Church

St. Augustine’s Church in South Boston

St. Francis de Sales Church

White Rock United Methodist Church

Bethesda United Methodist Church

Those churches were dead before they died. And, you can tell that the writer doesn’t understand where the life of a church comes from, in this quote:

Any minister can tell you that the two best predictors of a congregation’s survival are “budgets and butts,” and American churches are struggling by both metrics.

That’s the same belief of that high-ranking pastor in the Southern Baptist Church. He feels the need to maximize budgets and butts.

A congregation survives upon the Truth and the Holy Spirit that reveals it. It survives upon the Father leading the unsaved to the church, where each man, woman and child can hear the pure gospel and receive eternal life in Christ.

And, the writer of this article does not understand that. Not at all.

Hope for Dying Churches | Facts & Trends

The Atlantic article referenced this one. This is where we find the disturbing fact that between 6,000 and 10,000 churches are dying each year. And, you can tell that the writer of this article has a much better understanding of what it means to be a Christian.

In fact, this writer might even BE a Christian. He certainly exhibits more understanding of what a Christian is. But, as much as I rejoice in these signs of life, the marks of corruption are still there.

Yes, our churches need to reach out into our communities with the gospel. After all, it’s our number one job. It is our purpose.

In fact, my own view of the purpose of the church his this:

Christians have only two purposes:

Sharing the gospel.

Helping others share the gospel.

Everything else is in one of those two categories. And, I literally mean E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. The job of a pastor and the elders is to build up the spiritual lives of the congregation so that they are able to share the gospel. And, the job of the congregation is to make sure that the truth of Christ is known everywhere.

A church that is not directly and energetically engaged in building up Christians so that they can share the gospel, is dead. If you want an example in scripture of what I’m talking about, look at the words of Jesus in the parable of the talents.

Dead churches bury their talents in the earth. And, I must confess that I grew up in a church that did just that. And, I am ashamed that it has taken me so long to understand how important and vital evangelism is.

I am truly grateful to God that I am married to a woman who is such a powerful evangelist.

Exodus: Why Americans are Leaving Religion—and Why They’re Unlikely to Come Back | PRRI

The most important part of this article is the first graph. In the seventies and eighties, only about six to seven percent of Americans rejected an organized belief in God. After the early ’90s, the growth of those rejecting God has grown exponentially.

If you want to chart the beginnings of the ‘Great Falling Away’, you need to start with the ’90s. And, when you consider the trend depicted in that graph, you should be horrified.

This is an exponential explosion in the rejection of God.

7 Startling Facts: An Up Close Look at Church Attendance in America

Now, add to these depressing facts the FACT that only 17.7% of Americans actually show up for church, on any given Sunday. And, maybe 23-25% of Americans show up for three out of eight Sundays.

And people wonder why America is falling.

Shocking Survey Finds That Americans Find More Meaning In Life From “Money” Than They Do From “Faith” – End Of The American Dream

What did Paul say to Timothy about this?

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

– 1 Timothy 6:10

Yeah. That sounds about right. And, it sounds so American.

God help us all.

I truly hope that you’ll be ready for this

A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.Proverbs 22:3
