First Principles

We live in THE age of deception. Satan and his elite minions are doing their very best to destroy the idea that Jesus is God, that He created the Universe in six days and that He came, died and rose again for your sins.

It’s a full court press – an all hands on deck attempt to pry faith in Christ from you.

Jesus said that the attempt would be completely convincing to everyone except the elect. And, Jesus called us to watch for it, to be ready for it.

How can you watch, if you don’t see clearly?

First Principles

I have a really strong personality. I’m a pedal-to-the-metal, 24/7 kind of person. If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing with all of your effort – no matter what the personal cost is.

Unfortunately, this means that ideas like ‘finesse’ and ‘sensitivity’ tend to fly out the door, when I think that SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!

(sigh)

Can you imagine what it’s like to be married to someone like me?

Mrs. Little does her best to keep me from trampling over people, but it’s a hard job. And, she’s the one who often gets trampled. I’ve had to spend a lot of time apologizing to her and to everyone else when I do that.

And yes, I WILL run over you, but I will apologize afterwards. Many times, if I have to. And, I have been that way for a VERY long time.

Look up the phrase, ‘Bull in a china closet’, and I will probably be used as an example.

Why do I say all that?

Because I will probably need to apologize for running you over as I talk about your need to see clearly. But, it’s so important, that the risk of ‘running you over’ is worth it.

You are in serious danger, if you cannot see the deception that is pointed at your soul. So, let’s talk about what I believe to be the key to unraveling deception:

First Principles

Israel

Having lived in Israel for 15 years – and now in Taiwan – I have benefited from being able to watch deception being crafted. I could see what was happening around me, and then watch what the mainstream media would say about what I was seeing with my own eyes.

I would even go on to meet some of those creating the deception.

I’m sure that many of you have your own stories to tell about the crafting of deception. But for me, the Arab-Israel conflict remains one of the most interesting examples of deception at work that I personally seen. It really has been a privilege to actually see how and why deception has been produced.

And, I need to stop myself right here, because I run the risk of running away with this topic. The conflict over Israel is just so tempting… but, I need to force myself to move on.

Writing

The other part of this comes from my professional writing career. This helped me understand that the words that communicators choose to describe what they claim to see… well …those words can be technically true, while leading you off into deception. And worse, they know that they are doing it.

There have been many times when I was asked to write something that wasn’t true, and I had to push back and say that I just couldn’t do it. Sometimes, the problem was that my boss didn’t quite realize what he or she was asking me to do. Sometimes, it was the programmer who thought that his code did one thing, while I had to tell him that it did something else.

And then, there were those times when I was asked to write something that had supremely negative implications for the company. And, my response would be, “Do you realize…”

A good writer ALWAYS understands the implications of what he or she writes. That’s why I give the New York Times and the Washington Post such a hard time. THEY KNOW what they are doing, and they do it anyway. To say anything else is to claim that they aren’t good at what they do.

And yes, the NYT and WaPo are VERY good at what they do.

But, this still doesn’t get us to the core of what I want to talk about, so I need to get to that.

It Doesn’t Add Up

How do I know that the deception that I see is really deception?

It doesn’t add up.

Two plus two will ALWAYS equal four. People will always be people, wherever you go. The Sun always rises in the East. North will always be North. And, stupidity is infinite in capacity.

Of course, to say, “It doesn’t add up,” requires you to be able to add. And, this is where I come in. My goal is for you to be able to add up what people are telling you, so that you can see the deception for yourself.

And, as with all skills like ‘addition’, practice makes perfect. And, good examples are some of the best ways to illustrate what I’m talking about. Unfortunately, this is where I might run over some of you, so brace yourselves.

Blind Leaders

Let’s start with that article that I wrote on Monday, Blind Leaders. The title comes from the words of Jesus:

Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

 – Matthew 15:14

In terms of Omega Shock, the one thing that I worry about is being blind and leading ANY of you into blindness. And yes, I HAVE been blind to certain things over the years, so I know that this is always a possibility.

So, when I say that you should NEVER trust what I say, I mean it. You need to see all of this for yourself.

And, when I accuse others of blindness, I do so with the full knowledge that I have been blind, myself. I can only praise God that I have not continued in some of the blindness that I was afflicted with.

How did God lead me out of blindness?

Reading my Bible.

And THAT is one of the biggest steps. If you see a verse in the Bible that disagrees with your point of view… then you have a problem. And, I am a walking-talking example of how a verse here and there could jar someone loose from the pit that I had dug myself into.

Remember also that the Bible talks to itself, and it NEVER contradicts itself. And, I have been critically reading the Bible for long enough to see that. So, if there is a verse that contradicts your paradigm, you are wrong.

And no, I am NOT speaking to anyone specifically.

This is a principle that we ALL must take to heart, for me as much as anyone.

Donald J. Trump

In my ‘Blind Leaders’ article, I mentioned President Trump, and I posted a video that I have reposted in the research section. And, I only talk about him because too many aren’t thinking clearly about President Trump.

Please. Never forget that he’s a human being, just like you and me. Furthermore, he has strong desires for things – like money and power. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have those things, or be flashy about them. He’s also a very strategic thinker. He knows what he needs to do to win. And, he LOVES to win.

So, when people called him a ‘Christian’, the first question in my mind was, “Why would ANYONE say that?” I was really puzzled by this, until I saw Trump attempt to curry favor with the Christian community. And, his strategy only made sense after he’d won, and people analyzed his path to power.

Take a careful look at Trump’s base of support. Analyze where he spent his time, and where he didn’t. He knew that he did not need to win the popular vote. So, he didn’t try.

So, who did Trump reach out to?

The heartland.

The idiot Left were NEVER going to like him, so he didn’t try to capture their support. And, the idiot leftists all lived in the big cities. They were all concentrated on the east and west coasts, and they didn’t know what it took to ‘make a living’.

Big cities have ALWAYS been ‘breeding grounds’ for an unrealistic view of what makes the world work.

So, Trump went to the heartland. And, a large percentage of that ‘heartland’ is Christian. And, those who weren’t Christian would have been so used to having Christians around that they would not have minded if Trump called himself a Christian.

Furthermore, those that were the most upset with Obama were the Christians. So, getting the Christian vote, would have meant having a die-hard core that he could depend on.

Now, does this mean that ‘The Donald’ isn’t a Christian?

Of course not.

Donald really could be a Christian. He hasn’t proven to me that he is, but it doesn’t mean that he isn’t.

What I am trying to point out here is that big word: MOTIVE. Whenever someone makes a claim about something, you need to ask about their motives for doing so. ALWAYS.

Evolution

In fact, let’s take another of my favorite examples: Evolution.

Why do so many people claim that evolution is a fact, when any REAL scientist with half a brain knows that it doesn’t make sense?

And yes, I spent a LOT of my life pursuing science. I love it, and I originally wanted to devote my career towards it. Thankfully, God had other plans for me.

So, I can tell you with some authority that Evolution is supremely stupid science. They have YET to find the mechanism by which evolution can occur. And yes, I mean ‘mechanism’.

How is it that a simple form of life can become complex?

And no, they do not have an answer for that, except to wave their hand at the problem and say that it was ‘pure chance’. And sorry, but ‘pure chance’ just doesn’t work.

So, why do so many claim that evolution is a fact?

Because, if it isn’t, they’d have to believe in God. And, that is the LAST thing that they want to do. And, when you press a scientist like Richard Dawkins hard enough on how bad evolution is as a scientific idea, they retreat to the possibility of Aliens.

Aliens?

(facepalm)

Aliens

Remember that the desire to reject God is powerful, and people will do anything that they can to keep the idea of God as far away as possible. In fact, it’s the most common denominator for people everywhere.

No matter what people-group or society that you reach out to, the rejection of the God of the Bible will be the most common characteristic. People would rather believe in a violent, misogynistic religion like Islam, than believe in the God of the Bible.

That’s why the Left is pro-Islam.

Of course, the Left doesn’t really need Islam, because they have aliens. That’s right, aliens.

Why?

Well, the free flow of information via the Internet has shown how weak the theory of evolution is. There’s just too much information out there that demonstrates how bad this theory is, so they’ve had to make up a pseudo-scientific response. And, as Richard Dawkins so aptly demonstrated, that answer is aliens.

Have you noticed all the science fiction movies of the past 50 years?

I pretty much watched all of them, because science fiction can be a lot of fun. And, I’ve noticed this ‘meme’ of Aliens Returning To Earth. Not, arriving for the first time. No, RETURNING.

What a supremely stupid idea.

I’m sorry, but the idea of ‘alien life’ is even MORE stupid than the idea evolution. I won’t go into all the reasons why the idea of alien life is such a stupid idea. I could be here all day.

The one thing that you need to think about is why this idea of aliens is so popular among the elites.

In fact, let’s turn to the Bible to illustrate this. When Jesus was speaking about the Last Days, one of the things that He talked about was deception:

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

 – Matthew 24:24

For the past two thousand years, I’m sure that our brothers and sisters in Christ puzzled over this thought.

How was it possible for ‘the very elect’ to be the only ones not deceived?

Think about that for a moment. This means that EVERYONE will be so blown away by what happens, that they will buy into the deception. It will be logical. It will be ‘reasonable’. It will be utterly convincing. You would feel stupid to disagree with it.

What could this possibly be?

Well, there are a number of possibilities, but I must remind you that we live in a technocratic age. Science has become the religion of the average person. Even here in Taiwan, advertisers put people in lab coats as they claim that such and such is good for you – and that you should rush out and buy it, right now.

So, with all the hubbub over alien this and alien that, it sounds like they’re getting ready to spring an ‘alien story’ on us. And, it will be complete garbage.

Please.

Get this into your heads.

THERE. ARE. NO. ALIENS.

Only a moron believes in aliens. And yes, I believe that with every fiber of my being. It takes a special kind of stupid to believe in such a fairy tale. It would be easier to believe in ghosts and goblins, than this ridiculous idea that aliens think that humanity is such a great idea that they just had to come for a visit.

Seriously?

Aliens would travel millions of light years for a bit of ‘tourism’?

If I were an alien, I’d want to make sure that humanity never made it into space. We are such a violent bunch of idiots, that any smart alien civilization would blast Earth down to bedrock to keep us from making it out into the universe.

No, I’m serious.

For an alien civilization that wanted to live prosperously, in peace and security, humanity would need to be completely destroyed. There is no way that an alien civilization could allow us to threaten them, like we threaten each other.

Okay, I need to back off from this idea, or I’ll never finish this article. But, there is one thing that I DO believe:

Demons and fallen angels.

I’ve seen evidence of the demonic. And, I know of some who have seen entities that can only be demons. Many who have looked closely at the demonic and compared those entities to this alien idea… and they get a match.

Isn’t it interesting that, over the years, this ‘alien’ story keeps changing?

Isn’t it interesting that ‘aliens’ always seem to be so… uncomfortable …with the name of Jesus Christ?

Isn’t it interesting that people have been able to terminate an ‘alien abduction’ by calling on the name of Jesus Christ?

Yeah. It’s interesting. And, you need to remember that there are reasons why this alien story is being bandied about.

People would rather believe in space aliens than God. And, they will try to shove it down your throat, if you don’t agree. Eventually, they’ll chop your head off.

Back To First Principles

Okay, I’ve thrown out a few examples of deception for you to chew on. And, I’ve demonstrated my own thinking on dealing with that deception.

It all comes down to thinking about ‘First Principles’. Here’s the Wikipedia definition:

A first principle is a basic, foundational, self-evident proposition or assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption.

In philosophy, first principles are taught by Aristotelians and a nuanced version of first principles are referred to as postulates by Kantians.

In mathematics, first principles are referred to as axioms and postulates.

In physics and other sciences, theoretical work is said to be from first principles, or ab initio, if it starts directly at the level of established science and does not make assumptions such as empirical model and fitting parameters.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_principle

In biblical terms, we would talk about the foundation of a thing. For instance, ‘God Is Good’ would be a ‘First Principle’. Jesus is God, would be another one. Another First Principle would be that the Bible cannot – and does not – disagree with itself.

The Spirit Of Prophecy

And, as I wrote that, this thought popped into my head:

…for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

 – Revelation 19:10

I’ve been dwelling a lot on that, lately, and I think that it’s important. Jesus is the CENTER of EVERYTHING. His words. Who He is. What He is. What He did.

Everything.

And, as we attempt to traverse these Last Days, I believe that what Jesus said – His Testimony – will become vital to our spiritual survival.

Conclusion

Okay, I’m not sure that I’ve said everything that I need to say on this subject. In fact, the art of unraveling deception would probably take a book, and I’m not sure that I’m the one to do that.

My point is that you need to be VERY cynical about claims that don’t add up. And, if it is hard to know what does and does not ‘add up’, you need to develop those mental muscles required to do such ‘addition’.

To put it another way, always ask why someone says such and such. There’s always a reason, and most of those reasons are pretty awful.

My hope is that we will all make it through the dark days ahead and find a moment in time to compare notes on the deceptions that we have each overcome.

There are a lot of them out there.

I truly hope that you’ll be ready for this
