The amount of deception flooding the world is amazing. Worse, it’s flooding our churches. Deception is everywhere. Separating the truth from the lies… is hard. In fact, it’s an almost insurmountable challenge.
If you hardly know where to begin, in the process of separating truth from fiction, you have my sympathy. I know how you feel, and I struggle with this every single day. But, my hope is that you will win by doing what I am doing:
Reading the Bible. Every. Day.
If you are truly a child of God, you will win. You will see the difference between the lie and the truth.

Deception Upon Deception
Watching events in the aftermath of the Trump election victory has been enlightening. It’s becoming clear that Trump isn’t everything that he says that he is. He is NOT going to ‘drain the swamp’. He is NOT anti-Establishment. He is NOT going to change the way America is governed.
Maybe he started out wanting to make a change, but it’s obvious that he isn’t doing that now.
Maybe he just wants to avoid being assassinated?
I don’t know, but actions speak louder than words. So, it should be clear that most of the Trump fans have been betrayed. I didn’t hold any illusions in this regard, so my expectations have not been insulted.
For the rest of you, keep a watchful eye out for the future. It isn’t as bright as it seems.
Worse, our own churches are growing in their deceptions. It is more and more obvious, and I find myself being disheartened. Those that I expected to see clearly have taken comfort in lies and half-truths.
I don’t know why I allow myself to get depressed over heresy, but I do. I just can’t help it. Every Christian, everywhere, is deeply important to me. So, if someone is teaching a brother or sister in Christ a false message, I get upset. When that false message leads fellow Christians down a road that ends in destruction… I get outraged.
The last five years of writing these articles has shown me to be a far more emotional man than I thought.
Deception is growing by leaps and bounds. You MUST guard yourself from the lying liars that seek to scratch itching ears. It was this very thing that Paul warned Timothy of:
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
– 2 Timothy 4:3-4
Read your Bible. Every day. All of it. Again. And. Again.
If you aren’t feeding yourself with the truth, you will fall for the lies.
I truly hope that you’ll be ready for this
