The Burdensome Stone

I ended yesterday’s article with part of a verse. The whole thing goes like this:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.Psalm 122:6

And, I find it interesting that fewer and fewer Christians are interested in praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Is it any wonder that we no longer prosper?

As we draw closer and closer to the end of this age, fewer and fewer American Christians are interested in the peace of Jerusalem. And, as Christians turn their back on Jerusalem, God has turned His back on us. And, God has decreed that Jerusalem will be a weight that will destroy everyone that tries to carry it away.

The Burdensome Stone

Just as I have seen American Christianity drift further and further away from the truth, I have also seen American Christians drift further and further from Israel.

It is hard to believe that American Christians have fallen so far. We have sold our souls and are reaping the result, with a divorce and abortion rate almost as great as non-Christians. Our pastors preach pablum and watch pornography. Our congregations are more interested in activities for their kids, than hearing the truth.

It’s no wonder that Satan and his lies find such a comfortable home in mega-church building projects – and in the hearts of cold Christians.

I am ashamed of those of you who call Christ your own, yet vilify the desperate State of Israel. I really don’t know which is worse, the pre-tribulation rapture lie that has put Christians to sleep or those who have turned their backs on Israel – even though they know that there is no escaping the tribulation.

Don’t you know that Jesus set Jerusalem as the marker for the Last Days?

I spoke of this in my series about the prophecy clock, and I am mystified that so few know what time it is.

Jesus said this in Luke:

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.Luke 21:24

Those words of Jesus were fulfilled on June 7th, 1967. The time of the Gentiles is over. Fulfilled.

What an amazing thing – that we would dare to resist God’s work at the end of history. It’s as if the Book of Ezekiel and Zechariah ceased to exist. We’ve chosen the side of Allah and those who love death, over the work that God is doing in the hearts of Israelis.

What a shameful thing.

And, we have gone on to burden ourselves with Jerusalem, trying to take it away from her rightful owner, and give it to those who wash their hands in the blood of Christians.

Zechariah talked about that burden here:

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.Zechariah 12:3

With all the UN resolutions surrounding Jerusalem and Israel, you would think that the Jewish state would be the largest in the world, with Jerusalem the top city in the world.

Doesn’t that tell you something?

Just thirty percent of evangelical Christians are willing to say even a word of support for Israel. Just 30%.

How dare we turn our backs on the work of God. How DARE we!

Twenty eight percent of the Bible speaks about the Last Days, and most of it deals with Israel, in one form or another. For a closer look at Israel in Last Days prophecy, go here:

Those of you with a ‘yes but’ – blaming the suffering of the Palestinians on Israel – your ignorance of history is pathetic. Those of you who claim Israel’s heritage and End Times promises for yourselves, you are worse than pathetic. You have turned towards outright defiance of God’s work.

Yes, they are unsaved, and therefore pagan – by definition. But, God’s promise to save them still stands, and there are those of us who would dare to resist God, as He fulfills that commitment.

Were we not sinful and evil before we were saved?

Yet we demand of them, more than we expect of ourselves.

For a reason that I do not understand, God placed His name and His focus on a tiny patch of ground upon a low hill, and called it Jerusalem. He measured the time of salvation for the Gentiles in terms of it, and He gave it to His friend Abraham and his descendants. He then sent His only Son to die for us there – and only there.

The Last Days began on that rocky hilltop, and they will end there. The question is about yourself.

Are you going to be ready, when the end comes?

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

…they shall prosper that love thee.

I truly hope that you’ll be ready for this

      • Yea! Well, the thing that really grabbed my attention concerning the fringe – Occult, Mystery Religion, Babylonian Religion et al was noting from the sneak vid. taken of the Skull and Bones Initiation Ceremony — the False Ressurection/False Baptismal they perform being raised by the “Tigers Grip” (Same as Masonic Rituals) out of a Casket!!!
It hit me immediately that I was witnessing a Mockery of the Baptism and a Satanic Baptism! It’s the Mystery Religion.
The “Wizard of Oz” – following the “Yellow Brick Road” is symbolic of the “Initiation” into the Light (For: Wisdom, Courage, Knowledge). The old Houghton-Mifflen School Text Books – if you recall – had the “Owl” (Symbol of Minerva [Queen of Heaven]) at the top of the Oak Tree with a doorway at the bottom of the tree and Stairway (Like “Stairway to Heaven”) leading up. The Stairway is the Yellow Brick Road et al leading to the Light (Initiation).
Mur’ka IS Babylon!!! New Tower of Babel (“ONE WORLD” trade) INITIATED/BUILT! Coke “WE ARE THE WORLD”!!!…

        See a pattern?!!!

  1. We’ll John I have only been reading your Shock letter for a couple months. And not just to pull your chain, I believe your insight is brilliant and a God given gift. So much so I listen to your review at the weekend on you tube to make sure my baby boomer brain will retain. So you know the -but- is coming. You are not accurate about conservative and liberal Christians about Israel. Say a lot of things about them, like maybe 1/2 are not even born again etc . But to say they don’t support Israel is funny. Not only does the majority support Israel, I would go as far to say they they have replaced worshipping God with Israel , Jerusalem and the chosen people. And most of all they deny Israel the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And tell them they are saved without it, what blasphemy! Look on the Jews for Judaism website they have replaced Our Lord and Savior with Israel on their teaching of Isaiah 53. The issue is not enough support the issue proclaiming the Gospel to the lost including all of Abraham’s offspring. Thanks for letting me vent.

    • Hi Terry,

Um… wait. Did you know that ‘Jews for Judaism’ is a JEWISH ANTI-CHRISTIAN site trying to counteract the Jews for Jesus organization?

Jews for Judaism is NOT Christian Zionist in any way. In fact, Jews for Judaism HATE Christian Zionists.

Second, Christian Zionism does NOT teach that the Jews are ‘fine’. I have my arguments with them, but they don’t teach that. However, it is true that within the movement there are those who have gone that direction.

Furthermore, having watched Christian support for Israel decline over the years, it is clear to me that you are inflating your figures. If anything, 30% is probably overstating it.

You’re not the only one that has been claiming that Christian Zionists worship Israel, and I am mystified by this statement.

      Where do you get that?

I really don’t understand this accusation. You’ll need to provide me with proof of this – from an unbiased source.

But, let’s set aside whatever foolishness mainstream dispensationalists are teaching. The key issue revolves around what God promised to do, and what He IS doing. Read Ezekiel 36 and 37 with Zechariah 12 and 13. Those four chapters make it clear that there will be an Israel that has accepted Jesus as its Lord and Savior – and yes, individually, just like you and me.

Are you prepared to accept that, and support this miracle?

Remember that if God is doing this, speaking against it is to resist God and invite His wrath upon you.

      Thank you, Terry.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

      • Good morning John, Yes I know about Jews for Judaism. I try to write out the Word of God to them from the Tanakh on their you tube comment sections. Since like the catholic/mormon/muslim they discourage their followers from reading God’s Word.
I had not clicked on your link you posted to the Haaretz article till today. So I was unaware of Haaretz projections, while they say hard numbers are not available, I am not surprised about the young people, as our schools and universities are turning out atheists by the carloads. (
My thoughts were with last months posting of – and assuming most people answering the survey, where over 30 with a land line.
My frustrations with the discussion stems from some Christians and Hebrew root movement Christians saying the Jews do not need Jesus. Have a great weekend.

        • Hi Terry Moore,

I understand the frustration. I HAVE run across a few Christians who consider followers of Judiasm to be ‘cousins in faith’. That is outright heresy. Anyone who does not accept Jesus as God, and as our Lord and savior is a pagan.

By that definition, all followers of Judaism are pagans.

So… I get the frustration. I really do.

Just don’t lose sight of what the Lord is doing. Keep up the good work.

          Yours in Christ,

          John Little

  2. What is the matter with our brothers, sisters who claim that they love God with all their hearts.God Loves His Chosen People,if it were not for the Jews turning their back on Our Lord Jesus Christ, where would we be,we gentiles who are grafted into this olive tree,What would happen if Jesus did not intervene for us, this makes me so angry sometimes with my so called bros, sis who do we think we are ? We are to always Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, when our time comes and it will, everyone will be singing a different song all together. With all of this mess with the borders, martial law, persecution of Christians all over this world. (Where is the Love) as the word says “love will grow wax cold” Thank You for all you do,Watchmen on The Wall” you are definitely in good companies. Sincerely Carrie

  3. John Little,

Thank You for your straight forward teachings… I’m new to the site and have been both blessed and encouraged to see these truths expressed in your writings…

30% is alarming! Its a tragedy the body is unable, and for the most part, unwilling to receive such teachings from the pulpits today.

Regarding the Rapture Lie… I believe its intent and purpose is… to separate the church from Israel (The Land) and from our Jewish brothers and sisters. (It’s People)

    Shalu Shalom Yerusyalayim!

  4. I have fallen. In despair, I have given up the effort to pray. I am tired. And yet, in my mind, I KNOW. Though my heart and breathing feel heavy every hour of every day, my mind cannot erase that I KNOW that Jerusalem is the heart of all that is here, and about to come. My ears go deaf as the lips of people around me speak as though they need not make any effort for the Coming of the Lord, for they are already saved!(???)
I no longer brandish them with admonitions for lack of attention to God’s Word. The reply is always “oh please,,,,,”. even my family. My wife. My children. My siblings.
But today, right now, I say Thank You to God. Because somehow, unexpected, He connects me to someone like you. Someone who knows, and has not become over whelmed in despair. And Thank You also John for your honesty and Faith.

    • Hi Jim,

I am so sorry for this weight that bears you down. I know such things intimately. God loves us more than we know, and He walks with us through our pain.

I’m glad that God has guided you here. You do me much honor, but as you say, God has done all of this.

May God refresh you, and lift you up, brother.

Keep up the good work, Jim.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

  5. Were we not sinful and evil before we were saved?

You really hit the nail on head. Sometimes in our self righteousness we forget where we came from.

  6. John,
While I enjoy most everything you write, I have to disagree with your Israel stand to a certain extent. To begin with, while I understand your frustration at times, I urge you to refrain from calling people names like “pathetic”. You have to understand many people are trying to understand and calling them names can lead them away from all you desire to impart.

I feel you aren’t separating Israel and Jerusalem from Israeli people. While it may be true Jerusalem is a chosen land, just because people are born there or choose to live their doesn’t automatically make them protected people. Benjamin Netanyahu for example is one of the most evil people on the planet today.

I feel it is likely Jerusalem will be the site of the resurrection and rapture. Those living today who prove themselves through the tribulation are the chosen ones who will gather there before the final ascension. I would expect those worthy souls who passed before the end times would be there as well. Why would the rapture only include those who just happened to be living at the end times?

    • Hi Joe,

I did not call people pathetic, but that their ignorance of history was pathetic. And, it is.

Joe, you have swallowed the Palestinian PR hook, line and sinker. I am NOT a fan of Netanyahu, but he is FAR from being one of the most evil people on the planet.

Just as the dispensationalists have drifted away with their own closely held lies, lulled to sleep by sweet lullabies of a pre-trib rapture. You also have embraced your own falsehoods.

You must open your eyes to the truth. I have lived on the ground in Israel. I know intimately the situation. Jesus Himself pointed to Jerusalem, and its control as a sign of the end of days. Ezekiel and Zechariah speak eloquently of the return of the Jews, and their salvation.

What more evidence do you need?

But, you stand against that, and that means that you stand against the work of God. That is a very dangerous thing to do, Joe. Very, very dangerous.

Please, reconsider your position. Inviting the wrath of God is NOT a healthy thing to do.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

  7. P.S.
Once you see/get it – then everything else will start falling into place. (Like the Holywood “EYE” thing going on). WHY people can be so NAIVE about Slaughtering Babies (Abortion). The RIGHTS movement. Etc….

Is 47 (Skirts Uncovered) is about her “Daughter of Babylons” Occult Foundations being laid bare before her destruction:

    Isaiah 47:1-3
“Go down, sit in the dust,
sit on the ground without a throne,
        queen city of the Babylonians.
No more will you be called
        tender or delicate.
    2 Take millstones and grind flour;
        and wade through the streams.
    I will take vengeance;
        I will spare no one.”

    ISAIAH 47:7
    You said, ‘I am forever—
        the eternal queen!’
But you did not consider these things
or reflect on what might happen.

    REV 18:7
    In her heart she boasts,
        ‘I sit enthroned as queen.
    I am not a widow;
        I will never mourn.’

  8. John , you should read Romans and Galatians again to find out who Isreal really is. That’s not replacement theology it is progressive revelation, line upon line. The end of the time of the Gentiles is not until the last of old Neb’s image is ground into the dust according to Daniel and natural Isreal is spiritually called Egypt and Sodom until that time,Rev.11

    • Hi Darrell,

So you throw away all the rest of the Bible?

Jesus was very specific. The time of the Gentiles will be over when they no longer control Jerusalem.

Darrell, I’m not the one that you need to convince. You need to be reading your Bible.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

  9. Rightly spoken Mr. Little, rightly spoken. I hope the statistic you present of only 30% of evangelicals willing to support Israel is erroneous, but I suspect that you are a man who does his homework. I would add that we die daily, thus we have no reason to boast in ourselves when considering those “way-ward” Jews. Let God be true and every man a liar

  10. Shalom John!

If you have ever strolled through the Old City early in the morning, to The City of David and sat and watched the sun rise over the mount of Olives. ……..Ahhh! ……… I would put my name there too, but the Great and Awesome Name was there first 🙂

  11. Great article, and I couldn’t agree more. Wow is God’s Word accurate. What a “Burdensome Stone” that tiny little Jerusalem has become. This city has the worlds attention 24 hrs a day; not Paris, not New York City, but little Jerusalem. The world just don’t know what to do with Jerusalem. Amazing! I’m like you, with the Jewish people back in their land after nearly 2,000 years, how arrogant are some so-called believers to actually believe that the Church has replaced Israel, and that Israel’s future blessings have been transferred to the Church. Paul made it very clear that “Israel has been blinded in part, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in” (Rom. 11:25); and that one of the incredible responsibilities of the Church is to, “provoke Israel to jealousy”. I mean we are to demonstrate to Israel what it is to truly worship their God and their Savior, not to vilify them, as if God has actually forsaken them, but instead, to make them jealous so they might want what we have! I’ve recently had the privilege to visit Israel twice in the past 3 years, and I truly fell in love with the land of Israel and the Jewish people. I didn’t realize just how blinded they were, until I watched them at the wailing wall. My heart broke for them, and I can’t wait for that day when the blinders come off, and they finally realize that Jesus is their Messiah! I get so angry whenever I read articles about different denominations boycotting Israel and siding with the Palestinians. I just have to remind myself, that in order for all nations to one day soon gather against Jerusalem, these things have to happen; and the rise of antisemitism, even from those professing to be saved, is actually fulfilling Bible prophecy! Thank you so much for your love and support for Israel.

    • Hi Greg,

      Amen, brother.

It’s good to see that you too have felt something special there, and seen how God will one day do a miracle.

It hurts to see our churches poisoned by Palestinian lies and fabrications. God will protect Israel, but He will not protect those who speak against the work that He is doing.

Keep up the good work, Greg. God bless you, brother.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

  12. Oh!!!
And, if’n you’re going to keep writting articles like this one, then I’m going to HAVE to keep Cheering you on!!!
    5 More Stars!!!

Yes!!! May G-d bring peace to Jerusalem!!!
    And ALL Israel, soon!!!
    In Jesus’ Name!!!!

  13. I agree with you about we should pray for Israel. I wasn’t aware Mega Churches have left that concept. To name one… John Hagee. I thought he was a big supporter of Israel. I turned him off when I heard him support going to War with Iran. I also am aware of AIPAC lobbyist for Israel. Israel is the only nation that gets money from so many nations for support of them.
I believe the land decribed in the Bible belongs Abraham and his decedents. I do have a hard time believing the government of Israel is acting as if they believe it. It appears to me the government is acting as if they are a welfare state for the world.
I maybe off base and am willing to except correction. But I will continue to pray for the peace of Israel because I know Yeshua has placed his name there.

    • Hi Norma Maynard,

The only country that gives financial support to Israel is the United States, and that support has strings attached – strings that benefit the US military industrial complex.

Also, Israel is a valuable strategic partner to America in the Middle East. Without Israel, US interests in the Middle East would be in a lot of trouble. America gets far more out of her relationship with Israel than you might think.

Don’t let the anti-Israel propaganda get to you, Norma. God is at work.

And thank you for those prayers. God will bless you for them.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little

  14. Hi John,

Since you are on the topic of Israel, I have a question….that you may not have an answer to…..

What do you think it was all about when Glenn Beck and John Hagee, et al went to Israel a couple summers ago for the big event they had? At the time, I was quite touched…but since I no longer follow Mr. Beck for various reasons, looking back I wonder what he was really doing? It all may have been on the up and up.

    Any thoughts?

    • Hi DarL.

I remember that. It was the Summer of 2011 and “Restoring Courage”, and I wasn’t there at the time. I had left the year before.

However, I had been a subscriber to a channel – for just that year. But, I later unsubscribed because I felt that he wasn’t painting a realistic picture and that he was even leading others astray.

As I have seen more and more of the decay at the heart of the Mormon Church – above and beyond that of just being unsaved – I began to be even more uneasy about Glenn Beck.

Having said that, I believe Glenn Beck to be a dupe. I think that he is honest about what he believes and thinks and does not have a hidden agenda – except to promote Mormonism.

I believe the same about John Hagee. Although, with John, I believe that there is a willing deception in his twisting of the Bible for his own ends. Some have attributed sinister motives to John, but I’m not so sure about that.

So, again, I think that the Israel thingy was pretty much on the ‘up and up’, as they say.

I hope that answered your question, Dar.

      Yours in Christ,

      John Little
