Why Israel Is Important

I just spent the last four days telling you that the State of Israel is NOT part of some Illuminati plot to dominate the world. Why would I do that?

Because Israel is at the center of Prophecy.

If you read through the Bible, you will find that an amazing amount of space in the Bible is reserved for Israel in the Last Days. From Isaiah to Zechariah, almost every prophet speaks of how the children of Israel will return to the Land of Israel. And then, there are those portions of the Bible that talk about the Last Days and then reference specific locations in and around the Land of Israel. And, how about the special relationship that God said that He had with the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?

What about the covenant that God made with them?

What about the Land of Israel itself?

Read the Ezekiel Tetrad (Ezekial 36, 37, 38 and 39). Can you tell me that this does NOT talk about the physical return of a group of people that are the children of Israel?

If you can, then you believe a lie.

Now, it may be that you were taught this lie. I understand these things. There were certain ideas that I was taught that were lies. I know how that works. But, when I started to read through my Bible… when I started to see how it all fit together… I was able to discard the lies, and better understand the truth – all through the power and direction of the Holy Spirit.

Are you allowing the Holy Spirit teach you and direct you?

If you have to resort to commentaries to understand the Bible, it should be obvious to you that you are NOT allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you. Yes, I understand that those who are new in faith need extra help and guidance, but there comes a time when you need to stand on two feet and walk. There comes a time when you handle a knife and fork, and eat for yourself. There comes a time when you are a mature Christian, able to understand the Bible without resorting to artificial support.

And yes, it’s time to start now. A half an hour a day is all that it takes to get you through the Bible in one year.

Oh, and here’s one other thought to consider while you think about all this. The main commentaries that most people read, were written long before Zionism was first conceived as an ideal. The whole idea of a return of the Jewish people to such an inhospitable place was inconceivable. That’s why so many commentators ‘spiritualized’ what God meant to be literal.

Of course, you might not have access to the Holy Spirit because you aren’t saved. If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will never understand the Bible. If this describes you, read the Book of John. Ask God to help you understand. He will help you.

But, back to Israel.

The point is that a careful reading of biblical prophecy clearly indicates that Jerusalem, the Land of Israel and the Jewish people play a key role in the events of the Last Days.

Get Israel wrong, and you risk getting everything wrong.
